Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Civil Estimation Engineer / Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing precise cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and quotations for construction projects while ensuring compliance with local standards and regulations. Familiarity with Saudi construction market rates, VAT, and the Saudi Building Code (SBC) is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

The candidate will be entrusted with various critical tasks including:

• Developing comprehensive cost estimates and project quotations based on tender documents and project scope.
• Producing detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) derived from drawings and technical specifications.
• Conducting accurate quantity take-offs for civil engineering works.
• Reviewing tender documents and drawings thoroughly to understand project requirements.
• Updating and maintaining databases for material and labor costs reflecting current Saudi Arabian market rates.
• Coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain up-to-date pricing information.
• Supporting tender submissions, proposal preparations, and commercial evaluations.
• Ensuring all estimates incorporate relevant VAT (15%) and overhead costs following KSA regulations.
• Assisting with cost control and budget monitoring activities during project execution phases.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Applicants should meet the following criteria to be considered for this position:

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Between 3 to 7 years of solid experience in estimation or quantity surveying, particularly within the Saudi Arabian construction sector.
• Strong knowledge of local construction material prices, labor costs, and reliable supplier networks.
• Proficiency in MS Excel is essential for preparing estimates and reports.
• Basic working knowledge of AutoCAD to interpret drawings effectively.
• Experience with tendering processes and commercial evaluations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to residential, commercial, and fit-out construction projects.
• Familiarity with the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and local construction standards.
• Ability to manage work independently while meeting strict deadlines.
• Strong analytical capabilities combined with effective communication skills to interact with stakeholders.
