Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator / Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in building projects to join our team in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying, although candidates holding a diploma with substantial relevant experience will also be considered. This role demands expertise in quantity take-offs, cost estimation, and preparing competitive project bids within the Saudi or broader GCC market.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for thoroughly analyzing tender drawings and specifications to prepare accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQ). This includes performing detailed quantity take-offs from architectural, structural, and basic MEP drawings. You will analyze quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, calculate comprehensive project costs, and develop competitive tender pricing. During projects, monitoring costs against budgets will also be an essential part of your role.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proficient quantity take-off abilities specifically from architectural, structural, and basic MEP drawings.
• Strong experience in cost estimation covering materials like concrete, steel, blocks, finishing materials, labor, and equipment.
• Ability to incorporate overhead costs and profit margins into tender pricing.
• Excellent command of AutoCAD for reading drawings.
• Advanced MS Excel skills for managing BOQ and cost sheets.
• Familiarity with software such as Plan Swift, Bluebeam, or CostX is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Minimum of 3 to 7 years experience in villa or commercial building construction.
• Prior experience within Saudi Arabia or the GCC construction market is highly preferred.

Additional Requirements

• Holding a transferable Iqama.
• Knowledge of local suppliers in the Dammam, Khobar, and Jubail regions.
• Possession of a driving license is preferred.
