Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Purchase Officer to join our team in Bahrain. This role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating favorable terms, and ensuring the smooth procurement of materials essential for manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in plastic or aluminum manufacturing procurement, demonstrating strong negotiation and supply chain management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

The Purchase Officer will handle all purchasing activities, including:

• Negotiating prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other conditions with suppliers to secure the best deals for the company.
• Maintaining accurate records of all purchase orders, ensuring correct product specifications, pricing, payment terms, and required documentation.
• Overseeing customs clearance processes for imports and managing procurement costs, including landed costs of items.
• Identifying and developing new suppliers to improve quality and reduce costs for both existing and new products.
• Ensuring suppliers comply with ISO 9002 and BRC standards as required.
• Monitoring slow-moving or rejected stock in the warehouse and coordinating its disposal while negotiating favorable credit terms with suppliers.
• Coordinating sample testing, approval, and communication between Quality, Production, and Sales departments to facilitate product development and import.
• Arranging freight forwarding, customs clearance, and documentation for imports and repair shipments, ensuring competitive costs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate should possess:

• A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Administration, Finance, or Logistics.
• Relevant certifications in procurement or logistics are advantageous.
• Proven experience working in procurement within the plastic or aluminum manufacturing sectors.
• Strong negotiation, organizational, and communication skills.
