Job Overview

We are seeking skilled dispatchers to join a dynamic logistics company in Bahrain. The ideal candidate will oversee the daily management of hub and delivery operations, coordinating delivery assignments to couriers based on planned routes and schedules. As a dispatcher, your role is critical in ensuring that key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) are consistently met, especially concerning timely delivery and pickup commitments.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will manage and supervise the activities of riders and drivers to promote safe handling practices of shipments. You’ll be the primary contact for both emergency and routine calls, addressing issues swiftly and dispatching orders efficiently. Your duties include optimizing scheduling, providing real-time updates to field teams, maintaining accurate records through systems like the MyDP Portal, and generating performance reports for senior management. Coordination with customer service and logistics departments is essential to maintain smooth and effective operations.

Required Skills and Experience

Candidates should possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent, with additional certifications being advantageous. Previous experience in dispatch or a related operational role within logistics or transportation is preferred. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and a high volume of calls simultaneously are essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, along with proficiency in using dispatching software and tracking tools. The ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure, familiarity with local routes, and attention to detail are critical for success.

Work Environment and Competencies

Dispatchers must be flexible with their working hours as shifts and on-call duties are part of the role. Key traits include leadership ability, a results-driven attitude, professionalism, and the capacity to influence and energize the team. Managing people effectively and setting a positive example are also important aspects of this position.

Performance Targets

• Maintain an average of 1.5 UTR (unable to return) per courier per hour.
• Efficiently manage the courier fleet to respond to varying work volumes.
• Ensure complete and accurate last-mile delivery cycle recording.
• Prepare and submit detailed weekly and monthly operational reports.
• Supervise the delivery system dashboard closely.
• Achieve timely pickups, a critical operational element.
• Meet weekly and monthly volumes for orders on delivery (OFD).
• Develop planning strategies for peak and off-peak seasons.
