Job Overview

A respected construction company in Bahrain is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor with a background in asphalt and infrastructure projects. This role requires a professional committed to delivering precise cost management and effective contract administration to support the successful completion of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of projects, ensuring budgets are adhered to and resources are allocated efficiently.

• Managing project budgets, preparing detailed cost estimates, and forecasting cash flows to maintain financial control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitoring expenditures carefully and completing monthly Cost/Value Reconciliations (CVRs) to track progress and costs accurately.
• Handling procurement processes, including managing the bidding process, reviewing subcontractor and vendor quotations, and awarding contracts based on thorough analysis.
• Administering contracts by negotiating terms, managing change orders and variations, and ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations by clients and subcontractors.
• Conducting valuations of completed site work, processing interim payments, and finalizing accounts to settle project costs correctly and promptly.
• Leading and mentoring junior quantity surveyors and commercial team members to promote a collaborative and productive working environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience in quantity surveying, specifically within asphalt and infrastructure sectors.
• Strong knowledge of cost management, procurement, and contract administration procedures.
• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities to effectively manage client and subcontractor relationships.
• Leadership skills with the ability to guide junior team members and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Familiarity with Bahrain labor and employment laws related to benefits and work conditions.
