Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled IT Technician and Support Specialist to join our team on a freelance basis in Bahrain. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a company based in Saudi Arabia, contributing to enterprise growth through software maintenance, troubleshooting, and implementing new technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work closely with business analysts and team leads to ensure technology decisions support organizational objectives. Primary duties include maintaining existing applications by fixing bugs, enhancing features, and optimizing performance. You will troubleshoot complex issues, develop detailed project specifications, and assist with smooth deployment of software releases. Additionally, researching and adopting new technologies to improve processes, security, and performance is essential. You will also document design decisions, uphold coding and GUI standards, lead code reviews, and conduct unit and system testing. Collaborating with both internal and external teams to develop interfaces and ensuring compliance with security guidelines are also part of the role.

Required Skills and Expertise

• Strong programming abilities with expertise in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle Forms & Reports 6i and 10g.
• Experience using PL/SQL Developer or TOAD is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical and business information.
• Proactive attitude with the ability to prioritize tasks and support team members effectively.
• In-depth knowledge of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and security best practices.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to analyze and validate software to meet security and functional standards.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should hold an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience and training will also be considered. Professional certifications such as OCP, OCM, CCNA, CCNP, MCPIT, or ITIL are advantageous but not mandatory. Domain knowledge in hospitality, manufacturing, retail, or finance sectors will be considered a plus. A willingness to both guide colleagues and continue learning is essential for success in this role.
