Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Server Engineer to join our team in Bahrain. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving Windows server environments, along with associated network devices, backup applications, Active Directory, and PKI systems. This role involves taking a lead in incident management and deployment processes in line with industry best practices and ITIL standards.

Key Responsibilities

The Server Engineer will lead support operations, system maintenance, and improvements of critical IT infrastructure. Responsibilities include:

• Managing physical and virtual Windows servers, including patch management and backup solutions.
• Leading Level 2 and 3 incident management activities with regular updates through a service management tool.
• Coordinating deployments and changes to live systems, ensuring thorough planning, testing, documentation, and approval processes are followed.
• Collaborating closely with development teams and third-party suppliers to enhance system performance and reliability.
• Overseeing network configurations, VLANs, routing, and data center operations such as installing and configuring servers with Hyper-V.
• Supporting PKI and Certificate Authority operations for secure infrastructure management.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of proven experience supporting Windows enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of documented deployment processes and change management protocols.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL databases, including backups, tuning, and assistance in database development.
• Familiarity with network devices and configurations related to VLANs and routing (preferred).
• Hands-on experience with data center operations and server virtualization technologies like Hyper-V (desirable).
• Understanding of audit and certification standards such as ISO27001, EIDAS, or ICAO is a plus.
• Practical knowledge of PKI systems and Microsoft Certification Authorities.

Preferred Qualifications

Higher education in IT or a related field is preferred. Candidates without a degree should have an additional five years of relevant experience on top of the required professional background. Certifications related to any of the focus areas such as Microsoft Certifications will be an advantage.
