Job Overview
We are urgently looking for a skilled Project Engineer specialized in Food Service Equipment to join a dynamic team in Bahrain. This role focuses on managing and executing commercial kitchen equipment projects from initial design through to installation and commissioning. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working in the GCC and a strong background in mechanical engineering related to hospitality and food service environments.
Key Responsibilities
The Project Engineer will take full ownership of commercial kitchen projects, overseeing all phases of execution. Key duties include:
- Leading end-to-end project execution, including installation of food service equipment.
- Preparing accurate technical drawings, layouts, and detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for equipment.
- Collaborating closely with consultants, architects, and clients to ensure designs meet technical and aesthetic requirements.
- Coordinating with suppliers and contractors to guarantee timely delivery and proper installation.
- Monitoring project budgets, timelines, and the efficient allocation of resources.
- Ensuring compliance with local health, fire, and safety regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conducting site inspections, managing snag lists, and handling project handover documentation.
- Providing technical support during tendering and procurement phases to aid decision-making.
- Mentoring junior engineers and supporting team development.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 8 years of hands-on experience managing commercial kitchen equipment projects.
- Proficient in AutoCAD with a strong understanding of design and layout preparation.
- Proven track record in end-to-end project management including design, BOQ preparation, installation, commissioning, and handover.
- Strong site supervision and project management capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience working exclusively within the GCC region.
- Familiarity with renowned international kitchen equipment brands such as Hobart, Rational, and Electrolux.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is a plus.
- Background working with hospitality, food and beverage chains, hospitals, or central kitchen projects is highly desirable.
Compensation
This position offers a competitive salary of 1000 BHD, negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.
