This role involves supporting the production of Bon’s signature chocolates, pastries, and seasonal collections. Key Responsibilities
As a Kitchen Assistant at Bon, you will play an important role in the culinary team by:
- Collaborating on the development of innovative pastry and chocolate recipes, experimenting with unique and exciting flavor combinations
- Contributing artistic ideas for decorating pastries and finishing chocolates to enhance visual appeal
- Working alongside the Head Chocolatier and Pastry Lead to produce seasonal and limited-edition collections
- Operating chocolate-making machinery including tempering units, molds, and decorating tools
- Supporting pastry preparation through mixing, baking, assembling, and finishing various baked goods
- Ensuring a smooth and efficient production flow while maintaining high standards of precision and quality
- Participating in quality assurance by tasting and evaluating products for consistent excellence
- Assisting in inventory tracking and management of pastry ingredients, chocolates, and supplies
- Upkeeping a clean, sanitized, and organized kitchen environment in line with food safety protocols
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Female candidates preferred, aligned with workspace requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in pastry kitchens, bakeries, or chocolate/confectionery settings
- Strong grasp of flavor pairing principles and foundational pastry techniques
- Proficiency in decorating, glazing, painting, or finishing both pastries and chocolates
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with excellent attention to detail
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate well within a team
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation best practices
- Basic familiarity with chocolate tempering, ganache preparation, and molding – with training available for further skill development
Preferred Experience
- Background in artisanal chocolate production or high-end pastry craftsmanship
- Understanding of cocoa sourcing, tempering techniques, and bean-to-bar chocolate making
- Exceptional artistic talent in pastry or chocolate decoration to enhance product presentation
