Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Assistant Manager specializing in Hard Services to join our facilities management team in Bahrain. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operation of essential building systems such as electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC, ensuring all services run efficiently and comply with local safety standards. Immediate availability and current residence in Bahrain are required for this position.

Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Manager will support the Hard Services Manager in planning and coordinating operations across various technical services. This includes supervising technicians, electricians, and plumbers daily, ensuring that preventive and corrective maintenance is performed according to schedule. Monitoring equipment performance to detect faults or inefficiencies is a key task, as is managing relationships with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs. The role demands strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, alongside comprehensive reporting on maintenance activities, asset performance, and associated costs. Additionally, this position involves budgeting support, procurement oversight, inventory management, and staff training and evaluation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidates must have proven experience in facilities management with a focus on hard services within residential, commercial, or industrial settings. Strong technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems is essential. The role requires excellent team leadership abilities, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously with strong planning and problem-solving skills. A thorough understanding of Bahrain’s health, safety, and regulatory standards is necessary, along with effective communication and reporting skills. Candidates must already be based in Bahrain and available to join immediately.

Preferred Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related discipline is preferred. Additional certification such as Facilities Management Professional (FMP), Certified Facility Manager (CFM), or relevant technical trade certifications will be advantageous. Experience working in large-scale commercial or industrial facilities is also highly desirable.
