Job Overview

We are currently looking for a dedicated and skilled Database Administrator (DBA) with at least five years of experience to join our team in Bahrain. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise databases, ensuring peak performance and data consistency across critical business systems.

Key Responsibilities

The DBA will be responsible for installing, configuring, and administering databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL. This includes monitoring database performance, identifying opportunities for tuning and optimization, and implementing robust backup, recovery, and replication procedures. The role also requires managing high availability and disaster recovery solutions, performing patching, upgrades, and migrations with minimal downtime, and troubleshooting database issues promptly. Collaboration with application, infrastructure, and security teams is essential to support organizational system requirements. Maintaining accurate documentation and supporting audit and compliance activities will also be part of the daily responsibilities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of practical experience in database administration.
• Expertise in managing Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL databases.
• Solid knowledge of backup, recovery, and replication strategies.
• Experience with high-availability and disaster recovery environments.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail ensuring data integrity and security.
• Effective communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work well independently and within a team.

Technical Competencies

• Advanced skills in database performance tuning and optimization.
• Proficiency with backup and recovery tools and methodologies.
• Experience in replication technologies and failover mechanisms.
• Knowledge of database security, access control, and user management.
• Experience working with both on-premises and cloud-based database systems is an advantage.
