Job Overview

We are looking for a dependable and skilled SQL Database Administrator with at least five years of experience to oversee and optimize enterprise-level database systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive practical knowledge of SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL, ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of critical data environments.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL. Monitoring database performance regularly to identify areas for tuning and optimization will be a core duty. You will design and implement effective backup, recovery, and replication strategies to safeguard data integrity and availability.

Maintaining high-availability and disaster recovery solutions is essential, including performing failover testing and recovery drills to guarantee system resilience. You will handle database patching, upgrades, and migrations while minimizing downtime. Additionally, troubleshooting and promptly resolving any database-related issues is key to supporting business continuity.

Collaborating with application developers, infrastructure teams, and security experts will help ensure database environments meet operational and compliance standards. Maintaining comprehensive documentation, configuration records, and operational procedures will also be expected to support audits and governance.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of five years’ professional experience managing enterprise databases.
• Hands-on expertise in administering Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL databases.
• Strong knowledge of database backup, recovery, and replication techniques.
• Experience with high-availability setups and disaster recovery planning.

Technical Proficiencies

• Database performance tuning and optimization best practices.
• Proficiency in backup and recovery tools and methodologies.
• Understanding of replication technologies and failover mechanisms.
• Database security management including access control and user administration.
• Experience working with both on-premises and cloud-based database architectures is advantageous.
