Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established contracting company based in Bahrain. The successful candidate will take a leading role in managing project costs and contracts, playing a vital part in the financial success of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for various core duties, including:

• Cost Management and Forecasting: Developing project budgets, generating accurate cost estimates, and forecasting cash flow. Monitoring expenditures closely and preparing monthly Cost/Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
• Procurement Oversight: Managing the bidding process, evaluating subcontractor and vendor quotations, and awarding contracts efficiently.
• Contract Administration: Handling negotiations of contract terms, managing change orders and variations, and ensuring compliance from both clients and subcontractors.
• Valuations and Final Accounts: Measuring and valuing completed on-site works, preparing interim payment applications, and ensuring accurate settlement of final accounts.
• Team Leadership: Providing guidance and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors and other members of the commercial team, delegating tasks, and supporting their professional development.

Required Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in quantity surveying within the contracting industry, demonstrating excellent cost control and contract management capabilities. Effective communication and leadership skills are essential for overseeing team members and coordinating with multiple stakeholders. A sound understanding of relevant contractual frameworks and procurement procedures is also expected.
