Job Overview

We are urgently seeking an experienced Assistant Manager specializing in tendering for civil maintenance projects to join a reputable company in Bahrain. This role involves managing tender preparation activities, cost estimation, and contract administration for various civil works, maintenance contracts, and renovation projects.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing quantity take-offs, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and detailed cost estimates. They will review project drawings, technical specifications, and scopes of work to ensure accurate pricing and compliance. Additional responsibilities include conducting rate analysis, budgeting, cost control measures, evaluating subcontractor quotations, and preparing comparison statements. Managing interim payment certificates, final accounts, contract variations, and project documentation is essential. Periodic site visits to verify quantities and monitor project progress will also be required. Supporting timely tender submissions completes the scope of this role.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal applicant should hold a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying, with at least 10 years of relevant experience in civil works, maintenance, and renovation contracts. Expertise in BOQ preparation and rate analysis is crucial. Familiarity with plumbing and building services quantities is a plus. Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and Quantity Surveying software enhances efficiency in this position. Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical abilities are necessary to liaise with clients, subcontractors, and team members. Experience working on GCC projects is preferred, and practical site exposure will be advantageous.
