Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant and HR Assistant to join our team in Bahrain. This dual-role position focuses on managing daily accounting operations while providing essential support to the human resources department. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and assisting with HR administrative tasks to promote smooth organizational functioning.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Duties:

  • Maintain accurate financial records and update general ledger entries regularly
  • Record daily transactions including sales, purchases, expenses, receipts, and payments
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, and conduct timely follow-ups
  • Perform bank reconciliations and maintain the cash book
  • Prepare monthly financial statements such as profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reports
  • Support budgeting and financial forecasting efforts
  • Ensure timely tax filings and comply with VAT and other local tax regulations
  • Assist internal and external auditors by providing necessary documentation
  • Organize and maintain filing systems for financial records

HR Assistant Duties:

  • Maintain up-to-date employee records and HR files, both digital and paper-based
  • Assist in recruitment tasks including job postings, screening candidates, and scheduling interviews
  • Support onboarding processes for new employees
  • Monitor attendance, leave records, and prepare absenteeism reports
  • Coordinate payroll preparation in collaboration with the finance team
  • Handle employee documentation such as contracts, letters, and confirmations
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and labor law regulations
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and internal communications

Administrative Support:

  • Manage office documentation and filing systems efficiently
  • Assist management with report preparation and presentations
  • Coordinate information gathering from various departments for reporting purposes
  • Provide day-to-day administrative assistance as needed

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related discipline
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in similar roles
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, or equivalent
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and data management capabilities
  • Basic knowledge of HR practices and labor regulations in Bahrain
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Effective communication and coordination skills to work across teams
