Job Overview

A well-established company in Bahrain is seeking a skilled and experienced Accountant with strong purchasing capabilities. This dual-role position requires a candidate who can efficiently handle both accounting functions and purchasing operations while ensuring compliance with local regulations.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily accounting and bookkeeping tasks, including the preparation of invoices, quotations, payment vouchers, and financial reports. They will oversee accounts payable and receivable processes and coordinate purchasing efforts by liaising with suppliers. Key duties also involve sourcing materials, negotiating prices with vendors, monitoring stock levels, preparing purchase orders, and maintaining all necessary filing and documentation. Additionally, the candidate will assist management with financial and administrative duties, collaborate with auditors, maintain audit records, and ensure adherence to Bahrain’s accounting, VAT, and tax rules.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in accounting and purchasing roles
  • In-depth knowledge of auditing practices and VAT/tax regulations applicable in Bahrain
  • Familiarity with accounting software and proficient use of MS Office tools
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to effectively manage supplier relationships
  • Ability to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience working in the Bahrain market is highly preferred
  • Candidate must preferably hold a transferable visa
