Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant based in Bahrain to join our team immediately. This role calls for an experienced professional with strong financial knowledge and analytical capabilities to oversee comprehensive accounting functions and ensure smooth financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements, reports, and budgets. Managing the general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable will be key tasks. The role involves performing month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring compliance with local accounting standards and regulations, and handling bank reconciliations while monitoring cash flow.
Additionally, you will assist with audits, liaising directly with external auditors, and ensure accurate, timely tax filings, including VAT. Maintaining and improving internal controls and accounting procedures will be crucial. Supporting management through detailed financial analysis and reporting also forms an integral part of this position.
Required Skills and Experience
Applicants must currently reside in Bahrain and be ready to join immediately. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is essential, along with a minimum of five years’ relevant accounting experience. Deep understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards is necessary, alongside proficiency in ERP or accounting software such as SAP or Oracle and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, high accuracy, and close attention to detail are required to perform effectively in this role.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certifications like ACCA, CPA, or CMA would be advantageous. Experience working within Bahrain or the GCC region’s accounting frameworks and familiarity with local VAT regulations will set candidates apart.
