Job Overview

We are seeking a diligent and experienced male Assistant Accountant for a local hire position. This role plays a crucial part in supporting the finance team by managing daily bookkeeping tasks, reconciling accounts, processing payments, and assisting in month-end closing procedures. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a solid understanding of accounting principles to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate ledgers and journals, performing bank and account reconciliations to verify financial data, and managing accounts payable and receivable functions including invoice processing and debt follow-up. Additionally, the role involves aiding in the preparation of financial statements, supporting payroll processing, and ensuring adherence to tax and compliance standards. Administrative duties such as handling petty cash and filing financial documents are also part of this position.

Required Skills and Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred. Candidates must be proficient in popular accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or Tally and demonstrate strong skills in Microsoft Excel. An analytical mindset is essential for identifying discrepancies and resolving financial issues effectively. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with a thorough focus on detail and accuracy in all accounting tasks, are critical for success in this role.

Working Conditions and Benefits

This position requires a commitment of 11 to 12 working hours daily, with a half-day off each week. The salary offered is BHD 200, and the company provides visa sponsorship, accommodation, and transportation for the successful candidate.
