Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Chief Accountant to join a respected manufacturing organization in Bahrain. This role plays a crucial part in optimizing financial performance, implementing corporate policies, and ensuring precise financial reporting. Key Responsibilities

The Chief Accountant will be responsible for driving profit growth year over year by contributing to the development and execution of company-wide financial policies and objectives. Key duties include maintaining accurate financial records, enhancing reporting systems through automation, and conducting financial analysis and budgeting. You will oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, coordinate internal and external audits, and manage all accounting functions.

Additional responsibilities include establishing robust internal controls, managing accounts payable and receivable processes, supervising banking and cash handling activities, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements such as company registrations and duty exemptions. This role also demands overseeing cost control measures, product costing accuracy, and the implementation of effective accounting software solutions to facilitate timely decision making. Leadership and oversight of the accounting team will ensure smooth department operations aligned with corporate goals.

Required Skills and Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or Finance is required, with professional certifications such as CPA or Chartered Accountant preferred. Candidates should have at least five years of experience in a similar senior accounting role, preferably within a manufacturing environment. A thorough understanding of IFRS standards and ongoing updates to financial regulations is essential.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are a must, along with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Technical proficiency in financial management, costing, and accounting software is critical to succeed in this role. The candidate must be adept at identifying process improvements and implementing effective financial controls.
