Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled accountant with 8 to 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry to join our team in Budaiya, Bahrain. The ideal candidate will be proficient in managing food and beverage cost control as well as inventory management within a restaurant or hotel setting. A background in commerce or accounting is essential, with professional qualifications such as CA Inter or CMA preferred.

Key Responsibilities

The appointed accountant will be responsible for preparing and analyzing daily, weekly, and monthly cost reports related to food and beverages. This includes conducting recipe costing, menu engineering, and monitoring inventory to manage stock variances and reduce waste effectively. The role requires verification of purchase prices, supplier invoices, and goods received notes (GRNs) and controlling various expenses.

Collaboration with the kitchen, stores, and finance departments is crucial, along with the preparation of management information system (MIS) reports. The candidate will also assist during audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong understanding of hotel and restaurant costing and inventory control
• Experience using hotel accounting software such as Material Control, IDS, SAP, or Oracle is highly desirable
• Advanced Excel skills and an analytical approach to financial data
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to coordinate effectively with multiple teams
• Good communication skills to liaise with suppliers, kitchen staff, and management
