Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Linux System Administrator to join a prestigious university located in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi. This role offers a competitive monthly salary ranging from AED 8,000 to AED 10,000. The position is initially on a 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension based on performance. Candidates must currently reside within the UAE and immediate joiners will be prioritized.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux operating systems such as Ubuntu, Redhat, and Debian on both server and client platforms. Routine system maintenance and troubleshooting client-side issues will be essential duties. You will support server operations critical to business and development tasks, and have experience managing High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments, especially Ubuntu-based setups.

Additional responsibilities include configuring HPC Parallel File Systems and mounting them to HPC clients, managing remote user access for HPC labs, and monitoring system stability and security through user access control and routine oversight. You will also provide file sharing, synchronization solutions, and manage data backup and recovery processes.

Expertise in handling Nvidia GPUs and familiarity with CUDA, Python, and Anaconda environments is highly desirable. The role demands the ability to build and manage clusters for High-Performance Computing and GPU acceleration (RTX/ATX).

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Linux servers and client systems including Ubuntu, Redhat, and Debian.
• Strong abilities in system maintenance, troubleshooting, and server-side operations.
• Experience working with HPC environments and parallel file system configuration.
• Knowledge of remote access configurations for HPC users.
• Familiarity with Nvidia GPU management and related software frameworks such as CUDA, Python, and Anaconda.
• Capability to manage and develop high-performance compute clusters with GPU acceleration.
• Linux certifications are a plus but not mandatory.
