Key Responsibilities
The primary class teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons that motivate students to achieve their best outcomes in line with the English National Curriculum. Collaboration with fellow teachers to develop dynamic lesson plans and maintaining effective communication with parents and staff is integral to this role. You will manage classroom environments, tailor teaching to accommodate different ability levels, and support students with additional learning needs including those learning English as an additional language.
Further responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering all areas of the primary curriculum while creating an encouraging and resourceful classroom setting.
- Assessing student progress through Target Tracker and adapting teaching strategies accordingly.
- Maintaining high standards of behavior using school policies and promoting positive values through established programs.
- Actively participating in professional development and school-wide initiatives to improve teaching and learning standards.
- Engaging with the wider school community by contributing to events, extracurricular activities, and communication with families.
Leadership Role – Head of Science (Nursery to Year 4)
This position also includes leadership responsibilities as Head of Science. The role involves providing strategic direction for the Science curriculum, leading the Science Curriculum Action Group, ensuring effective use of resources, and contributing to the school’s performance monitoring processes. The ideal candidate will help enhance teaching quality and student engagement within this subject area across early years to Year 4.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field with a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Minimum of two years’ experience teaching the English National Curriculum, preferably in more than one international school setting.
- Proven ability to teach across a wide age and ability range with exemplary classroom management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Commitment to the school’s vision and ongoing professional development to continually enhance teaching practices.
