Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Energy Marshal with extensive experience in electrical testing, commissioning, and energy isolation management, preferably within data center or mission-critical environments. This role is based in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, and focuses on ensuring the safe handling of electrical equipment by implementing strict Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and energization protocols tailored to project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

The Energy Marshal will play a crucial role by identifying electrical hazards and overseeing all safety measures related to electrical work on site. Responsibilities include:

• Developing and enforcing project-specific LOTO and energization protocols.
• Coordinating with clients, commissioning teams, OEMs, electrical contractors, and HSE personnel to guarantee safe energization and testing processes.
• Reviewing Method of Procedure (MOP), risk assessments, switching plans, and commissioning documentation to ensure compliance and safety.
• Conducting safety briefings, site inspections, and audits, with the authority to halt activities posing unacceptable energy risks.
• Maintaining accurate records such as LOTO registers, equipment status logs, switching activities, and energization documentation.
• Verifying equipment readiness and ensuring completion of pre-energization checks before approving operations.
• Establishing safe switching sequences, isolation boundaries, and authorization protocols prior to maintenance or energization tasks.
• Identifying potential electrical hazards involving medium and low voltage switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, batteries, generators, ATS units, busbars, and distribution panels.

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• More than 8 years of hands-on experience in electrical testing and commissioning, with a preference for data center or critical facility projects.
• Solid understanding of electrical hazards such as arc flash, stored energy, short circuits, grounding, and isolation requirements.
• Proficient in interpreting electrical single-line diagrams, commissioning documentation, and switching schedules.
• Proven ability to develop and implement LOTO procedures and energization protocols effectively.
• Excellent communication, coordination, risk assessment, and safety leadership capabilities.
