Job Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Lead to oversee and implement safety management systems within construction and industrial settings. This role requires a proactive professional to develop and manage health, safety, and environmental strategies while ensuring compliance across projects.

Key Responsibilities

The HSE Lead will be responsible for establishing comprehensive HSE plans and managing risk controls at both company and project levels. The role involves leading inspections, audits, and training sessions, as well as conducting incident investigations and coordinating emergency preparedness activities. You will work closely with managers from construction, workshops, and chemical handling units to ensure safety standards are integrated consistently.

Supervising the Safety Officer is a critical part of this position, along with monitoring the implementation of corrective actions. Any critical safety risks must be escalated directly to the Chief Operating Officer to maintain a safe working environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Relevant degree or technical diploma in a related field.
• NEBOSH International General Certificate or an equivalent occupational safety certification.
• Strong expertise in risk assessment, permit-to-work systems, incident investigation, and HSE auditing.
• Detailed knowledge of hazards relating to construction, lifting operations, electrical isolation, and chemical handling.
• Proficiency in writing clear and concise safety reports in English.
• ISO 45001 auditor training is preferred but not mandatory.

Experience Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of eight years of experience working in construction or industrial HSE roles, including at least three years in a leadership capacity. Experience in implementing site safety management systems, conducting thorough incident investigations, and working around chemical processes or workshop environments is highly desirable.
