Job Overview

A prominent organization in Qatar is urgently seeking a skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor with extensive experience for immediate deployment. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in civil, infrastructure, and MEP/MEICA projects, especially those familiar with the Qatar construction sector.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and project budgets across civil, infrastructure, and MEP/MEICA works. The role involves reviewing tender documents, drawings, BOQs, and contract scope to ensure accuracy. You will evaluate and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, identifying potential cost risks. Supporting the management of variations, claims, tender submissions, commercial proposals, and cost reporting is essential. Collaboration with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Planning, and Commercial departments forms a significant part of this role. Additionally, monitoring scope changes and assessing their financial impact is crucial.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management. A solid track record of 8 to 15 years in quantity surveying, estimation, or commercial roles is required. Experience with infrastructure projects, wastewater treatment plants, sewage treatment plants (STP), and MEP/MEICA construction initiatives is preferred. Prior exposure to projects in Qatar will be advantageous. Expertise in cost estimation, analysis of BOQs, interpreting drawings and specifications, contracts, and project scope management is essential.

Work Details

This full-time position is based in Qatar, offering a 10-hour workday over six days per week. The initial contract duration is three months with the potential for extension. Immediate availability is required to meet project demands.
