Job Overview

We are currently looking for a skilled Civil Quantity Surveyor to join a mid-sized contracting company based in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. The focus of this role is on residential villa construction, supporting projects from the tender phase through to completion. This full-time position offers hands-on involvement with live projects, emphasizing practical experience in civil works measurement and cost management.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will handle a wide range of duties throughout the project lifecycle. During the pre-construction phase, responsibilities include preparing detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs) from structural and architectural drawings and conducting accurate quantity take-offs for materials such as steel, concrete, blockwork, and plaster. The surveyor will also review and verify estimation volumes and assist with tender pricing and cost breakdowns.

Throughout construction, the role involves tracking material quantities against approved estimates, certifying subcontractor invoices, preparing and pricing variation orders, and monitoring material waste and cost deviations. Monthly cost reports are to be prepared to keep financial progress transparent and on track.

Additionally, coordination is vital. The surveyor will liaise with the procurement department for quantity verification, provide clarification to site engineers regarding quantities, and maintain a cost database that will support future projects.

Requirements and Skills

Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with 3 to 7 years of relevant experience as a Quantity Surveyor on the contractor side, preferably with residential villa projects. A strong understanding of structural drawings and reinforcement detailing is essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel. The ability to independently perform quantity take-offs and familiarity with subcontractor measurement and payment certification processes are required.

Preferred candidates will have experience coordinating both civil and basic MEP quantities and exposure to technical office work.
