Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Reconciliation Specialist to join our team, either offshore in India or onsite in Dubai. This role is crucial for managing a focused clean-up project involving the review, evaluation, and resolution of legacy General Ledger (GL) balances and outstanding VAT entries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in banking reconciliations and tax compliance, particularly within the UAE financial landscape.

Key Responsibilities

The main duties include conducting a thorough review and reconciliation of historical GL balances within the Wealth Operations division. You will be responsible for identifying, investigating, and resolving outstanding VAT-related entries to ensure full compliance with UAE tax regulations. Additionally, you will work closely with internal finance and operations teams to address discrepancies, substantiate variances, and close long-standing open items. Clear and detailed reporting is also expected, providing management with status updates, risk assessments, and closure documentation.

Required Skills and Experience

The successful candidate should possess a proven track record in handling complex financial reconciliations and legacy account clean-ups. Experience in banking, wealth management, or financial services operations is essential. You must have a thorough understanding of GL reconciliation processes along with UAE VAT principles and accounting rules. Advanced proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Power Query, and handling large data sets, is required. Familiarity with core banking systems will be considered an advantage. Strong analytical and investigative skills coupled with keen attention to detail and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines are also necessary.
