Job Overview

A well-established contracting company is seeking a skilled Civil / Mechanical Supervisor to join their team in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have solid experience working on Saudi Electricity Company National Grid projects, particularly in high voltage substations and transmission works.

Key Responsibilities

The supervisor will oversee daily site operations ensuring civil and mechanical construction activities meet project drawings and standards. Main duties include monitoring civil works such as equipment foundations, cable trenches, duct banks, and manholes, as well as steel structure installations involving fabrication, erection, and alignment. Coordination with multidisciplinary teams including civil, mechanical, electrical, and QA/QC personnel is essential. The role requires managing manpower, materials, and equipment efficiently while conducting site inspections and preparing daily progress reports. Compliance with National Grid safety protocols and quality standards is critical, along with active participation in toolbox meetings and job safety analyses.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum 5–10 years of hands-on civil and mechanical construction experience;
• Proven background in National Grid projects, especially substations and transmission sites;
• Expertise in civil works related to foundations, trenches, concrete works, and steel structure erection;
• Familiarity with structural steel fabrication, alignment, and inspection procedures;
• Ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams effectively;
• Experience as a Work Permit Receiver (WPR) with knowledge of the National Grid Permit to Work system including Hot Work, Cold Work, Excavation, Work at Height, and Confined Space permits;
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills;
• Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and method statements.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a valid Saudi National Grid approval or have demonstrated relevant project experience. A certified Work Permit Receiver (WPR) credential is necessary, accompanied by transferable Iqama status preferred. Candidates should be adept at ensuring safety and quality compliance throughout project execution while effectively managing site resources.
