Job Overview

We are currently recruiting a seasoned Transportation Planning and Traffic Safety Engineer to contribute to a high-profile project in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. This role demands a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in civil engineering disciplines, specifically focusing on transportation planning and traffic engineering.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with company representatives and government agencies to enhance traffic and transportation safety measures. This includes leading traffic safety engineering efforts, guiding engineering teams, and managing the development and review of scopes of work for Road Safety Audits, Traffic Impact Studies, and Temporary Traffic Management Plans. The role also involves reviewing roadway designs and specifications according to industry standards, preparing detailed technical reports and presentations, and supporting staff development through mentoring and training.

Required Skills and Expertise

The engineer must possess strong expertise in highway design, transportation planning, traffic safety analysis, and traffic engineering evaluation. Familiarity with industry codes and manuals such as the AASHTO Green Book, Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), Highway Safety Manual (HSM), Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), and guidelines from ITE and FHWA is essential.

Certifications and Qualifications

This position requires professional certifications including a PE (Professional Engineer) license, PTOE (Professional Traffic Operations Engineer), PTP (Professional Transportation Planner), RoSPA, and RSP credentials or equivalent recognized qualifications. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, professional technical reporting abilities, and the capacity to deliver superior engineering solutions.
