Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Chief Accountant to join our finance team in Riyadh. This senior role is crucial for managing all accounting functions, ensuring financial data accuracy, and supporting strategic business decisions. The Chief Accountant will oversee financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and internal controls, serving as a key contributor to the company’s financial health.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team to drive professional growth and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Design, implement, and enforce accounting policies and procedures to uphold strong internal controls and comply with relevant standards.
• Collaborate effectively across departments to gather financial data, provide insightful analysis, and support overall business objectives.
• Oversee financial reporting processes, including the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements such as the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Statement.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, ensuring accurate and timely reconciliations and journal entries.
• Conduct comprehensive financial analyses to identify trends and variances, offering recommendations to senior management to optimize performance.
• Support budgeting and forecasting initiatives by supplying historical financial data and detailed analysis.
• Monitor and control departmental costs to promote financial efficiency across the organization.
• Ensure integrity of accounting records by reconciling the general ledger and resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Strengthen data security measures to protect both company and customer financial information.
• Continuously update and improve accounting control procedures, identifying system enhancements and implementing best practices.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP or IFRS standards and oversee tax planning, reporting, and filing responsibilities for income tax, sales tax, VAT, and Zakat.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, acting as the primary liaison to auditors and ensuring timely provision of required documentation.
• Maintain daily accounting operations including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash management to guarantee operational accuracy.
• Manage the collection and filing of all necessary purchase bills and vendor documents to comply with GAZT regulations and prevent financial penalties.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a senior accounting or finance role, preferably as a Chief Accountant.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and financial regulations including GAAP or IFRS.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and manage a team effectively.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Familiarity with tax regulations and experience in VAT and Zakat filing in Saudi Arabia.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills to interact with multiple departments and stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented mindset with ability to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.
• High level of integrity and commitment to safeguarding confidential financial information.
