Job Overview

We are urgently looking for a qualified Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in radiation protection, regulatory compliance, and industrial radiography, specifically within the framework of Saudi Arabian nuclear safety standards and Aramco guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

The RSO will be responsible for implementing and overseeing radiation safety programs, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, and maintaining compliance with Saudi Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission (NRRC) standards. Daily tasks include managing radiation source handling, supervising radiation workers, and conducting audits and inspections to uphold safety protocols.

Required Skills and Technical Expertise

  • 5 to 10 years’ professional experience in radiation safety, health physics, or industrial radiography.
  • Hands-on experience with gamma and X-ray sources in industrial radiography operations.
  • Proficiency in operating radiation detection and monitoring equipment.
  • Expert knowledge of radiation source storage, transportation, and handling procedures.
  • Ability to conduct radiation safety audits, inspections, and training for radiation workers.
  • Familiarity with Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES) related to non-destructive testing (NDT) and radiation safety.
  • Understanding of international best practices, including IAEA safety standards.

Regulatory and Compliance Requirements

The successful candidate must demonstrate experience working with the Saudi Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission (NRRC) regulations and maintaining relevant licenses. Prior exposure to Saudi Aramco’s safety management systems, contractor approval processes, and Aramco project environments is highly preferred.

Educational and Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Health Physics, or a closely related field.
  • Certified Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) with valid NRRC licensing.
  • Valid retrieval and maintenance certificates from QSA Global.
  • Aramco-approved vendor certification is a plus.

Additional Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience working on Saudi Aramco projects and those who are Saudi nationals. Familiarity with the unique safety protocols and administrative procedures of Aramco is advantageous.
