Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Manager to drive the growth and expansion of our fuel additives and wash oil business primarily within Saudi Arabia, with potential opportunities across the IMEA region. This role focuses on accelerating business development efforts in a high-value market estimated at over $30 million annually, contributing significantly to the overall corporate growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will lead market and account expansion efforts in Saudi Arabia by targeting key strategic sites. You will design and implement comprehensive sales strategies and site-specific strategic sales plans to secure substantial business opportunities. Collaboration is essential as you will work closely with Regional Sales Managers, field sales teams, service organizations, and Technology Steering Committees to ensure effective sales activity execution, target tracking, and strong relationship management.

  • Ensure strict adherence to safety policies, promoting a safe working environment aligned with Goal Zero guiding principles.
  • Establish and nurture impactful relationships with national and international oil and gas companies, engaging stakeholders at various levels.
  • Drive sustainable and profitable business growth by focusing on short, mid, and long-term opportunities in coordination with management teams.
  • Own projects within assigned geographic areas while collaborating with team members to maximize results.
  • Champion Nalco Water’s downstream business strategy, delivering exceptional customer care and fostering market growth.
  • Support all technical and commercial aspects related to product performance and profitability.
  • Lead tender processes and develop competitive strategies to position the company for success.
  • Maintain and track sales opportunities using the Sales Pyramid tool, prioritizing prospects and providing regular progress reports.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Petroleum Science (Associate degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in fuel additives, chemicals, or specialty chemicals within the oil and gas industry, particularly in business development roles.
  • Proven experience working with National Oil Companies is essential.
  • Strong understanding of regional political, social, and cultural factors impacting the industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of commercial aspects relevant to large-scale industry projects.
  • Ability to function independently while contributing effectively to team initiatives on complex projects.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a strong sense of urgency and capability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and confident decision-maker attentive to company policies and customer needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other standard office software.
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and networking abilities.

  • Effective planning and organizational skills to meet evolving business demands.
  • Strong communication skills across all levels within customer organizations and internally.
  • Experience with project management tools such as MS Project considered an asset.
