Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Planning Manager to lead and optimize our sales and operations planning (S&OP) process in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will drive demand forecasting, supply chain transitions, and overall planning efficiency to support business growth while minimizing costs and inventory levels. This role involves close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of the forecast-to-stock cycle.
Key Responsibilities
The Planning Manager will facilitate the corporate S&OP process by engaging key stakeholders and delivering critical insights on demand forecasts, budgets, sourcing strategies, and product transitions. You will oversee both short- and long-term planning activities to maximize service levels and reduce end-to-end supply chain costs. Managing supply chain transitions related to mergers and acquisitions (M&A) will be a vital part of the role. Collaboration with internal departments such as Sales, Marketing, Finance, Procurement, and Manufacturing, as well as external teams like R&D and regional program management, is essential to improve supply chain responsiveness. Additionally, you will lead planning loss analysis, value creation initiatives, and continuously enhance planning systems and tools.
Team Leadership
This role includes supervising Demand, Supply, Import & Export, Materials Planners, and Plant Schedulers. You will ensure effective coordination across these functions to maintain a balanced planning cycle that supports operational excellence.
Scope and Impact
The Planning Manager will manage inventory valued between 5 to 15 million USD and oversee turnover ranging from 50 to 100 million USD. The portfolio includes 20 to 50 thousand tons of sales volume and 500 to 1000 SKUs. You will lead a team of 4 to 8 direct reports, directly influencing the efficiency and profitability of the supply chain.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of seven years’ experience in production planning, purchasing, and supervisory roles.
- Proficiency in ERP systems with hands-on experience in S&OP processes aligned with supply chain planning principles.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Fluency in English.
- Demonstrated business acumen with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and leadership abilities.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement attitude.
- Strong time management skills and commitment to meeting critical deadlines.
