Job Overview
We are actively looking for a seasoned Health, Safety, and Compliance (HSC) Manager to join our team in Riyadh. The successful candidate will oversee and enforce strict adherence to Saudi safety regulations, international standards, and specific project requirements. This role demands a strategic leader who is proficient in managing comprehensive HSE programs to ensure a safe workplace across various sectors.
Key Responsibilities
The HSC Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining HSE policies that align with Saudi Labor Law as well as international guidelines.
- Oversee compliance with ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) standards
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and detailed risk assessments to identify potential hazards
- Lead investigations into accidents and incidents, ensuring thorough reporting and implementation of corrective actions
- Create and update safety procedures and emergency response plans to mitigate risks
- Monitor safety practices of contractors and workforce to guarantee consistent compliance
- Facilitate toolbox talks and provide ongoing safety training to reinforce workplace awareness
- Ensure the correct use and availability of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Serve as a liaison with government agencies and clients to ensure regulatory compliance
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive HSE documentation and reporting
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in health and safety management along with exemplary leadership abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree (4 years) in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or Engineering is mandatory (B-Tech degrees are not accepted)
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in the field, including at least 7 years in a managerial HSE role
- Proven expertise in sectors such as Construction, Infrastructure, or Oil & Gas is preferred
- Relevant certifications are critical and must include NEBOSH (IGC or Diploma). Holding IOSH Managing Safely and OSHA certifications is advantageous
- Experience with Saudi Aramco approval and working knowledge of SABIC or SEC protocols will be a strong plus
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to manage and lead teams effectively
- Comprehensive knowledge of Saudi Arabia’s safety regulations and standards
