Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to lead and steer the Software Development department within our engineering and operations division in Riyadh. This role involves shaping the department’s strategic direction, overseeing project execution, and ensuring high-quality software delivery aligned with the company’s broader solutions development objectives.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will participate in designing and implementing the Software Development strategy, ensuring departmental plans contribute effectively to the Solutions Development directorate’s goals. Collaborating with various stakeholders, the manager will identify key projects that align with future business needs and drive the team toward meeting department objectives and KPIs.

Regular tracking and reporting on progress and outputs to relevant stakeholders form a crucial part of this role. Budget participation, including ensuring optimal utilization and addressing challenges, will also be expected. The manager will propose initiatives that enhance financial performance and mitigate operational risks.

Maintaining high-quality coding standards across all applications in collaboration with business analysis and quality control teams is essential, alongside integrating feedback from testing phases. Supporting post-development phases by creating comprehensive training documents for operations and end-users is another critical responsibility.

The role demands managing software activities within budget limits, escalating issues promptly, and validating release readiness before deployment. Recommended improvements to policies and procedures must guarantee compliance with legislative requirements while promoting cost-effective, high-quality results.

Leadership is a fundamental aspect, requiring motivation and mentorship of team members, fostering continuous process improvements, and promoting a high-performance culture. The manager will oversee day-to-day compliance with policies, lead recruitment efforts, set performance objectives, and conduct evaluations to support staff development.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory capacity within software development.
• Proven experience in Agile methodologies with a preference for certified Scrum Master credentials.
• Hands-on expertise in DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and concepts.
• Strong technical background, preferably with Java technologies such as Spring.
• A Master’s degree in technology, engineering, or a closely related field is highly desirable.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification is required.
