Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Head of IT Application Support to lead and manage the organization’s business applications portfolio. This leadership role demands strategic oversight to ensure application systems meet business needs, maintain high performance, and align with IT service level agreements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in application support within a Microsoft-intensive technology environment, with a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks like SAMA and NCA.
Key Responsibilities
The Head of IT Application Support will be responsible for the following core duties:
- Planning and ensuring business applications meet system goals and end-user requirements while identifying and resolving any system issues.
- Evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of existing applications and formulating strategies to enhance or better leverage these systems.
- Developing deployment and testing plans to support smooth software rollouts.
- Researching, recommending, and evaluating software products and services to support procurement and development objectives.
- Collaborating with analysts, designers, and system owners to test new software and applications.
- Analyzing technical documentation to verify new applications’ functionality and compliance with system requirements.
- Coordinating feasibility studies on software and system products under consideration for integration.
- Liaising with software vendors for rapid resolution of critical issues.
- Maintaining production environment systems post-deployment and overseeing security-related assessments such as penetration tests and code reviews.
- Leading the application support team to meet business operational needs and coordinating with other technical teams to ensure quality assurance and data integrity.
- Managing software asset inventories and related contracts efficiently.
- Developing end-user training materials, conducting training sessions, and supporting user engagement initiatives.
- Monitoring system performance and ensuring alignment with best practices and service-level standards.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Management, Project Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
- At least 10 years of experience working in a Microsoft-dominant technology environment.
- Proven leadership abilities with experience managing cross-functional project teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, accompanied by strong negotiation and conflict resolution capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements related to SAMA and NCA frameworks, including deployment regulation compliance.
- General understanding of various software development techniques and programming languages.
