Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Manager with over 15 years of overall experience, including a minimum of 12 years working hands-on as an Oracle Database Administrator (DBA). The ideal candidate will have a strong background managing complex and critical database systems, ensuring their reliability, security, and performance across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities

As a Database Manager, you will lead a team of Database Administrators, overseeing all phases of database design, implementation, and ongoing support. Your role includes developing processes and integrating third-party tools to optimize database system effectiveness, availability, and recoverability. You will also be responsible for administering databases in both UNIX and Windows environments, managing multiple database servers, and ensuring high availability through technologies such as Oracle RAC, Data Guard, cluster configurations, and Always-On setups.

Required Skills and Experience

• Extensive Oracle DBA experience with expertise in managing critical, multi-database environments.
• Proven leadership abilities managing and mentoring a team of DBAs.
• Hands-on experience with MS-SQL as a secondary database, plus familiarity with MongoDB, Sybase, and PostgreSQL.
• Strong knowledge of UNIX systems, including scripting for automation and daily database administration tasks.
• Expertise in deploying and supporting databases on both UNIX and Windows platforms.
• Practical experience with high availability and disaster recovery features such as RAC, Data Guard, and Always-On.

Work Environment

This position is based in Abu Dhabi and involves collaboration with cross-functional IT teams to maintain robust and secure database systems supporting business operations.
