Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled and detail-focused Cost Control Engineer to join our team. This role plays a crucial part in managing financial aspects of projects through effective cost monitoring, budget planning, and accurate reporting. The ideal candidate will work closely with multiple departments to ensure financial targets align with overall project goals and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and overseeing project budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts. Monitoring ongoing expenditures and analyzing any variances is essential. You will be tasked with generating cost reports, progress valuations, and management dashboards to communicate project status effectively. Collaboration with project management, procurement, and finance teams will be a daily activity to address cost-related concerns. Additionally, reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), variation orders, and claims through a cost control lens is part of the role. Supporting internal audits and ensuring adherence to company financial procedures will complete the core duties. Your input will also guide cost control strategies during project planning and execution phases.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. A minimum of five years’ experience in cost control, preferably within construction or Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects, is expected. A thorough understanding of budgeting processes, cost reporting techniques, and project control principles is critical. Proficiency in MS Excel and various cost control software tools is required, and familiarity with ERP systems will be advantageous. The role demands strong analytical abilities, effective communication skills, and the capability to prepare clear, concise reports.
