Job Summary

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing mechanical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance with industry standards. The role includes project coordination, technical evaluation, site supervision, and quality control.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Engineering

• Design mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, piping, fire fighting, and machinery).

• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and BOQs.

• Perform engineering calculations and system sizing.

• Review and approve shop drawings and technical submittals.

2. Project Execution

• Supervise mechanical installation at site.

• Ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and safety standards.

• Coordinate with civil, electrical, and other engineering disciplines.

• Attend project meetings and provide technical input.

3. Quality Control & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with international codes and standards.

• Conduct inspections and testing of mechanical systems.

• Monitor contractor performance and workmanship quality.

• Resolve technical issues during construction.

4. Cost Control & Planning

• Assist in cost estimation and budgeting.

• Monitor material usage and reduce waste.

• Support procurement in technical evaluation of suppliers.

5. Maintenance & Troubleshooting (if applicable)

• Diagnose system malfunctions.

• Recommend corrective actions and preventive maintenance plans.

• Improve system efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• 3–8 years of relevant experience (depending on level).

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and engineering software.

• Knowledge of international codes and standards.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
