Job Overview

We are seeking experienced API 653 certified Tank Inspectors to join a leading engineering team in Qatar. The ideal candidates will have strong expertise in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing aboveground storage tanks in accordance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

As a Tank Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting thorough internal and external inspections of storage tanks. This includes assessing tank bottoms, shells, roofs, welds, and foundations. You will also utilize non-destructive testing methods such as ultrasonic thickness testing (UT) to evaluate corrosion and structural integrity. Ensuring compliance with API 653, API 650, and other relevant codes is critical to this role.

Required Skills and Experience

• API 653 certification is mandatory.
• 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in inspecting, repairing, and maintaining aboveground storage tanks.
• Strong familiarity with API 650 and other industry standards.
• Proficient in non-destructive testing techniques, including ultrasonic thickness measurement.
• Ability to perform detailed assessments of tank components such as welds, shells, bottoms, roofs, and foundations.

Educational and Professional Requirements

A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field is preferred. Demonstrated experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industries would be an advantage.
