Job Overview

A semi-government company in Qatar is seeking an experienced Asset Management Expert to oversee and enhance the performance of power generation and desalination facilities. This permanent role focuses on ensuring operational efficiency, reliability, and strong financial oversight across critical infrastructure assets.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing both the technical and commercial aspects of the organization’s power and water assets. Primary duties include supervising plant operations and maintenance to guarantee asset reliability, steering budget preparations and cost management efforts, and overseeing contractual agreements such as Power Purchase Agreements (PPA), Fuel Supply Agreements (FSA), and Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSA). Additionally, the role requires close coordination with operations and maintenance teams to foster seamless plant activities, reviewing departmental reports for accuracy and promptness, and identifying risks and opportunities to boost asset performance.

Required Skills and Experience

• Extensive practical knowledge and experience working in combined cycle power plants coupled with integrated water desalination facilities.
• Previous senior leadership roles such as Plant Manager, Operations Manager, or Maintenance Manager are highly preferred.
• Strong expertise in managing both the technical and commercial sides of asset management.
• Familiarity with key contractual agreements including PPA, FSA, and LTSA.
• Demonstrated experience in budgeting, financial planning, and overall plant operations management.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is required.
