Position : Bid & Estimation Manager
Department : Finance Department
Roles and Responsibilities
As a Bid Manager, you will be responsible for researching key bid components, liaising with
vendors, and negotiating favorable terms to ensure our proposals remain competitive and
profitable. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of technical and
commercial risk assessment, ensuring all submissions comply with local regulations while
staying within budget and strictly meeting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities, not limited to:
• Opportunity Management: Identify and review bid opportunities to ensure
alignment with company criteria and growth objectives
• Strategy Development: Devise and establish effective bidding strategies to
showcase our services and attract premium clients.
• Financial Estimation: Estimate project costs accurately based on contractor and
vendor bids and perform the company’s annual budgeting exercise.
• Proposal Writing: Prepare, write, and compile comprehensive bid packages and
detailed proposals.
• Process Monitoring: Oversee the entire bidding lifecycle to ensure adherence to
deadlines, budget limits, and local/state laws.
• Risk Assessment: Identify and evaluate technical and commercial risks associated
with each bid to protect company interests.
• Negotiation & Liaison: Coordinate with procurement to negotiate with
vendors/contractors for favorable pricing; maintain strong relationships with all
stakeholders.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with team members and
Sales/Operations to gather information and respond to client inquiries.
• Market Intelligence: Research market trends and key industry points to ensure
bids remain innovative and up to date.
Skill Required
• Communication: Bid Managers are required to have excellent communication because
this skill helps them liaise with colleagues, shareholders, clients, contractors, and other
individuals. Bid Managers must be able to effectively communicate with team members to
compile a detailed proposal using relevant information, as well as to understand clients’
project requirements.
• Negotiation: By properly utilizing negotiation skills, Bid Managers can reach an
agreement between two parties. Negotiation helps them get the best prices for their
company’s products or services, involving discounts, payment terms, and other aspects of
a contract. Bid Managers can also negotiate deadlines, budgets, and project requirements.
• Analytical Thinking: Required to evaluate complex proposals, assess value, and
determine if bids meet specific client needs
• Problem-Solving: Necessary for adapting proposals to meet client requirements and
resolving disputes between vendors and clients
• Decision-Making: Vital for selecting suitable vendors, determining pricing strategies, and
choosing which services to include.
Job Requirements
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering,
Economics, or a related field.
• Experience: 7 to 9+ years of proven experience as a Bid Manager or Bid Writer,
specifically within a Catering environment
• Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the catering and support services industry.
• Legal Fluency: Familiarity with relevant Saudi Arabian local and state laws regarding
procurement and bidding
• Technical Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication; expert-level research and
organizational skills.
