Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Piping Quality Control (QC) Inspector with a strong background in oil and gas or petrochemical projects. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience in handling piping QC activities, ensuring all fabrication, erection, and welding inspections meet industry standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

• Reviewing and interpreting piping drawings, isometric drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
• Inspecting piping fabrication, erection, fit-up, and welding to confirm compliance with quality standards.
• Conducting inspections of welding procedures (WPS/PQR), welder qualifications, and welding activities.
• Overseeing non-destructive testing (NDT) methods including radiographic testing (RT), ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT), and penetrant testing (PT).
• Supervising hydrostatic and pneumatic testing as well as flushing procedures.
• Managing material inspections including traceability and verification of material test certificates (MTCs).
• Preparing and reviewing quality control documentation such as inspection reports, inspection test plans (ITPs), checklists, and punch lists.
• Ensuring adherence to relevant ASME, API, and ASTM standards throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintaining clear communication with project teams and reporting on QC progress and issues.

Required Skills and Experience

• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience specifically in piping QC within the oil and gas or petrochemical sectors.
• Good understanding of piping and instrumentation drawings and specifications.
• Hands-on experience with welding inspections and familiarity with relevant welding codes and qualifications.
• Knowledge of NDT techniques and inspection methods.
• Experience with hydrostatic, pneumatic testing, and system flushing.
• Proven ability to manage material inspections and maintain traceability documentation.
• Ability to compile and review detailed QC documentation efficiently.
• Strong knowledge of ASME, API, and ASTM standards governing piping QC.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively report quality matters and collaborate with the project team.
• Experience working on GCC or Saudi Arabian projects is desirable.
