We are currently seeking a skilled Accounts Manager to enhance our dynamic team in Manama, Bahrain.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will independently oversee the accounts and VAT affairs for multiple clients. Acting as the primary contact, your responsibilities will include managing accurate bookkeeping, ensuring VAT returns are filed promptly and correctly, and maintaining full compliance with financial regulations.

• Manage daily accounting operations for a diverse portfolio of clients
• Prepare, review, and file VAT returns within designated deadlines
• Maintain comprehensive bookkeeping records, including sales, purchases, expenses, and bank reconciliations
• Ensure adherence to VAT legislation and accounting standards across all accounts
• Engage with clients to gather documents and resolve financial inquiries
• Compile periodic financial statements and management reports
• Handle VAT registrations, amendments, and de-registrations as required
• Coordinate with tax authorities regarding client VAT matters
• Identify and address discrepancies or accounting and VAT issues proactively
• Stay informed about changes in VAT regulations and accounting best practices
• Supervise or collaborate with junior accounting staff as applicable

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with a recognized professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, or CIMA highly preferred. A minimum of five years of post-qualification experience in a firm setting, specifically with outsourced accounting and VAT services, is essential.

• Strong familiarity with Bahrain VAT laws and practical VAT return preparation experience
• Sound knowledge of accounting standards, preferably IFRS
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with cloud accounting platforms like Tally or ZohoBooks is advantageous
• Excellent analytical abilities, organizational skills, and effective time management
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal; Arabic language skills are a plus
• Client-focused, professional attitude with the capability to work independently and collaboratively
