Brite Consult is seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to join their team supporting an Oil & Gas operation in Qatar. This role demands a technician with solid experience in electrical maintenance and repair, specializing in the energy sector. Candidates will work on various electrical systems, ensuring operational efficiency and safety in a demanding industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for carrying out routine and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, troubleshooting faults, and performing repairs as needed. Duties include working with generators, low tension switchgear, motors, motor control centers (MCC), transformers, variable speed drives (VSD/VFD), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and lighting systems. The role also involves electrical switching operations up to 415 volts following approved safety procedures, as well as testing, inspection, installation, and commissioning of electrical components.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 6 years working experience in electrical maintenance and repair, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Completion of secondary education supplemented with at least 2 years of trade electrical training or ONC qualification.
• Proficient in handling and maintaining generators, LT switchgear, motors, MCC, transformers, VSD/VFD systems, UPS, and facility lighting setups.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to overhaul electrical equipment efficiently.
• Experience conducting electrical switching up to 415 volts in compliance with approved guidelines.
• Skilled in testing, inspecting, installing, and commissioning electrical systems.
• Good command of English, both spoken and written, including ability to read technical manuals and electrical drawings.
