This role involves hands-on maintenance and repair work focused on marine engines and associated mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in marine or diesel mechanics coupled with strong troubleshooting abilities.

Key Responsibilities

The Marine Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of marine equipment. Primary duties include:

• Performing routine maintenance and repairs on marine engines
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with diesel and petrol engines as well as mechanical systems
• Repairing transmissions, pumps, fuel, and cooling systems
• Conducting preventive maintenance and servicing engines to avoid breakdowns
• Replacing faulty parts and conducting thorough fault analysis
• Adhering to safety protocols and maintaining accurate service documentation

Requirements

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Diploma or certificate in Marine or Mechanical Engineering
• Previous experience as a marine or diesel mechanic is highly preferred
• Strong aptitude for mechanical troubleshooting and repairs
• Comprehensive knowledge of marine engines and related equipment
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
