Job Overview

We are seeking skilled Safety Engineers to join our team in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidates will ensure full compliance with SABIC Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards as well as meet all regulatory requirements. This role is vital in maintaining a safe working environment across industrial sites.

Key Responsibilities

As a Safety Engineer, you will carry out daily site inspections, safety audits, and observations to identify potential hazards. Your responsibilities include conducting thorough risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and hazard identification for all operations. You will lead or assist in investigating incidents and perform root cause analyses to improve workplace safety.

Environmental compliance is also a major focus, involving monitoring emissions, waste management, wastewater handling, and spill prevention. Supporting environmental monitoring programs and sustainability efforts will be part of your duties.

Additionally, you will manage and enforce safe work permits, oversee contractor safety performance, and participate in safety reviews such as HAZOP and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA). Ensuring emergency preparedness through system readiness and drilling exercises will also be expected. Delivering HSE training and encouraging a proactive safety culture across all teams forms another crucial part of the role.

Accurate documentation, timely reporting, and follow-up on corrective actions complete the safety management responsibilities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in safety engineering or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of SABIC HSE standards and relevant regulations
  • Competency in conducting risk assessments, JSAs, and hazard identification
  • Experience leading incident investigations and performing root cause analysis
  • Understanding of environmental compliance measures and sustainability initiatives
  • Ability to review and enforce work permits and contractor safety protocols
