Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Steel Draftsman with valuable experience in civil and steel fabrication projects based in Qatar. This role demands familiarity with industry standards related to steel detailing and the ability to efficiently work with various drawing and fabrication processes. The position requires professional drafting skills combined with practical knowledge of materials and cost estimation, supporting large civil construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

The Steel Draftsman will be responsible for producing accurate and detailed steel fabrication drawings. This includes interpreting construction drawings, preparing material take-offs (MTO), bill of quantities (BOQ), and assisting with cost estimation and quotation preparation. The candidate will collaborate closely with engineers and project managers to ensure that drawings meet project specifications and quality standards.

Required Skills

• Minimum 2 to 3 years of GCC experience in steel drafting, focusing on estimation and fabrication.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and construction documentation.
• Expertise in preparing material take-offs (MTO), bill of quantities (BOQ), and providing cost analysis related to steel fabrication.
• Hands-on experience using AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, SolidWorks, and Advance Steel software for drafting and modeling.

Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate a thorough understanding of steel fabrication processes and civil construction requirements within the GCC region. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team are essential. Candidates with prior exposure to project costing and quotation will be preferred.
