Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Instrumentation Engineer with over six years of experience to join an important oil and gas construction project based in Qatar. The successful candidate will have hands-on expertise in instrumentation systems, strong leadership capabilities, and a thorough understanding of project safety and documentation standards. This opportunity is open exclusively to freelancers currently residing in Qatar and requires immediate availability.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will lead the on-site instrumentation team during construction activities, overseeing the installation and commissioning of instrument systems and components. Ensuring strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations is crucial, as is maintaining precise and up-to-date construction documentation. Collaboration with QA/QC teams and adherence to project-specific procedures will be vital to the project’s success.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation or Control Engineering
• Minimum of six years’ hands-on experience in instrumentation within oil and gas construction projects
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate field teams
• Comprehensive knowledge of industrial instrument systems and related components
• Familiarity with Permit to Work (PTW) systems, HSE regulations, and QA/QC processes
• Experience with QELNG projects and holding a valid Ex-QELNG status is highly preferred
• Prior work experience in Qatar or other GCC countries is advantageous
• Must possess a valid Qatar ID and currently reside in Qatar

Project Details

This freelance assignment is based in Qatar and scheduled for three months, with an immediate start date. The role demands a professional ready to contribute effectively from day one.
