Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Testing Engineer for an urgent opening in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and have a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, including proven Gulf region exposure. Preference will be given to professionals with backgrounds in the oil and gas sector.
Key Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive electrical testing and diagnostics. This includes testing numerical and static relays from leading brands such as ABB, Siemens, GE, and Schneider. The role requires expertise in medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV) relay testing, including motor differential, transformer differential, bus differential, line differential, and distance protection relays.
Additional duties involve performing MV motor and cable testing using techniques such as Tan Delta and offline Partial Discharge testing. The engineer will also handle high voltage (HV) transformer assessments, specifically Tan Delta, SFRA, and DFRA testing procedures.
Other responsibilities include testing various electrical equipment including current transformers (CT), voltage transformers (VT), circuit breakers (CB), MV switchgear, and gas-insulated switchgear (GIS). The role demands effective site leadership and coordination with clients to ensure timely execution of projects and accurate test reporting.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory.
- At least 7 years of electrical testing engineering experience, with proven Gulf region experience.
- Strong familiarity with international standards such as IEC and IEEE.
- Expertise in electrical schematic interpretation and control circuit troubleshooting.
- Hands-on knowledge of testing relays from major manufacturers including ABB, Siemens, GE, and Schneider.
- Proficient in MV and LV relay testing methods covering motor, transformer, bus, line, and distance protections.
- Skilled in advanced testing techniques such as Tan Delta, SFRA, and offline Partial Discharge testing.
- Experience with electrical equipment testing for CT, VT, CB, MV switchgear, and GIS systems.
- Familiarity with the latest testing tools, preferably Megger equipment.
- Strong leadership capabilities to manage site activities and coordinate effectively with clients.
- Good computer literacy to prepare detailed test reports and documentation.
Preferred Experience
Applicants with a background in the oil and gas industry will be favored, as well as those who have managed large-scale testing projects and led teams on site.
